Oh What a Night!

F. 790 137

I went to bed around 11:30pm last night and after just a little while managed to fall asleep. Then I woke up a little before two and didn’t get back to sleep until almost six!

At first I took it in stride, figuring I’d fall back asleep soon enough. Ha! As is so often the case, I was probably stressing over money and my future, but it wasn’t as though I was truly panicked. I entertained myself by figuring out what I would do if I had $200,000. $75,000 down on a house and $25,000 for whatever comes up. The other $100,000 I was using to make my house payments for the next four years or so.

Still not sleeping, I thought about book sales, wondering how many books I would have to sell just to make $10,00o a year. I think I make $1.70 per book so it comes to over 500 books a month. That’s a lot of books, and a little daunting. No wonder I couldn’t sleep after that realization! I mean, lets face it, it’s not as though you could live on $10,000.

I think it’s clear, my books need to be turned into films and they need to be blockbusters!

Yeah, those kinds of nights are a bit maddening. I seem to have one of those every few weeks. It kind of seems like a cycle. Hope you start selling books beyond what you ever imagined and get at least one screen deal cinched. After the first blockbuster and Oscars the other films will be easy sells. I think you can do that.
