One of my resolutions for this year, if you can really call it that, was to get people to buy my other books, and by other, I mean everything but On A Hot August Afternoon. Gratefully, Hot August is being purchased and/or chosen in the Kindle Unlimited library several times a week. I’m not making any real money yet, but the numbers are growing, and that is wonderful.
I have three other books, however, and each of them is just as good as Hot August. I cannot understand why the others get zero action, while this one title continues to flourish. Crashing Into Us, The Salacious Marny Ottwiler, and Searching For My Wand are all available on Kindle and in paperback. I promote all three books on Twitter and Facebook.
So, I have told myself to try again. My plan was to run a 24 hour free promotion, but when I went to KDP, all I saw was a countdown promotion and the least amount I could do was $.99. I guess Amazon has changed their policy, I thought. This was disheartening because I don’t know about you, but I’d go for free before $.99 any day. The idea was/is to drive up the numbers and I figured I could easily ask all of you, as well as my twitter and Facebook friends to download a free copy. You’d be more inclined to do that than to pay, right? Yeah.
Fast forward to the next day. I had set promo deals for both Crashing Into Us, as well as The Salacious Marny Ottwiler, when I received a Kindle Direct newsletter claiming to still offer free promotions. Grrrr! I went back and finally saw the tiniest arrow ever where I could change from the countdown deal to the free promotion. Hooray! But wait, the Crashing countdown deal was set to begin in less than 24 hours, so for some reason I can’t change it. Ugh!
So, if you have $.99 and want a good book or just to help out a friend, Crashing Into Us is only $.99 for the next 24 hours. (January 20-January 21) And if you are looking for a wild, funny story, The Salacious Marny Ottwiler will be FREE! January 21-January 22.
If you would share this info with your twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, Google followers and anyone else you know, I will be forever grateful. I will also be very curious to see if one does better than the other.
